CELEBRATING 100 YEARS!

The Palace Theatre Centenary Year

On the 21st October 2012 the Palace Theatre will be celebrating its 100th anniversary. To mark this occasion Southend Theatres and the Palace Theatre Club have received a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund. Throughout the year there will be opportunities to join in the fun and celebrate this special birthday.

We will be launching the Palace Centenary with a variety show on the 28th January 2012. For more information about this or to book tickets please see our Whats On page or call 01702 351135.

The Palace Theatre Club currently has a collection of old photos, programmes, posters, etc which we are hoping to turn in to an archive. Volunteers are currently being recruited and trained to help us with this processes so what this space.

Belfairs School are heading up a schools project where 10 schools will come together to create a film about the Palace. We are still looking for schools to work with us so please contact Emily if you would like to get involved.

In September 2012 the White Bus will be taking the Palace back to its 1930s cinema days. Then in October/November next year we will be having our very own Community Play.

We will be holding a public workshop for anyone who would like to get involved in the community play on the 21st January. If you woudl like to join us please let Emily know by using the link below.
